January's Top 3 Interior Design Tips - How to Turn your Bedroom into a Boutique Hotel Bedroom

Do you ever dream about having a "boutique" [aka modern designed] hotel bedroom for your very own?  You deserve it ! Of course getting up and going to work may now become even more difficult.....

Tip #1 Make the headboard wall the focal point of the room.
Here is a random sampling from cheap and cheerful to ultra sophisticated :

Hotel Bo Bo in Buenos Aires, Argentina

The Modern Hotel, Boise, Idaho

Smyth Thompson Hotel, NYC

Tip #2 Make the Bed!

Mix up the textures on your bed and go for the highest quality possible. Think 600-thread count sheets in linen or Italian cotton.

Deck your bed out with as many pillows as possible, at least four sleeping pillows or other large European pillows, plus accent pillows to create a boutique hotel style cocoon.

Tip #3 Pay attention to your window treatments.

The reason why we sleep so well in hotel suites is because they use blackout blinds and draperies.

Draperies are another way of layering textures  whether you use blinds or draperies with blackout lining ... beauty follows function .

Sweet dreams.
